"For a band that never had much success in the charts of their native Great Britain, The Creation is one of the most paradoxically enduring British combos. Their recordings from 1966-1968 are not numerous, but they have become the archetype of the "cult" band, their music being discovered, loved, and admired by successive generations of fans over the last half-century. The key to The Creation's longevity lies in their retrospective status as leading representatives of a musical subgenre dubbed "Freakbeat" and for having given their name to one of the most successful British independent labels of the 80s and 90s. Songs like "Making Time", "Biff Bang Pow" and "Can I Join Your Band" regularly appear in television series soundtracks in particular. This 2LP box set includes the band's recordings from the 60s, as well as (for the first time on a "Best Of" compilation) the highlights of their studio reunions in 1987 and 1996 with full annotations by Alan Robinson.
