With saxophone, cello, piano, and flutes, Portland spiritual jazz group The Cosmic Tones Research Trio, led by Roman Norfleet, creates a disc of great beauty. All Is Sound innovates. At its heart, this is healing/meditation music, but gospel and blues roots are also present... as well as hints of forward-looking spiritual jazz. A disc as sincere as possible. In All is Sound, delicate and profound melodies create peaceful and immersive soundscapes, which the group develops through its combined experience in acoustic ecology, sound meditation, mindfulness, and active community engagement.
