(For God's Sake) Give More Power To The People - Vinyle Jaune
Description
The Chi-Lites' third album, "(For God's Sake) Give More Power to the People", sees the group embrace the social consciousness movement of the early 70s, no doubt influenced by contemporaries like Sly & the Family Stone and fellow Chicagoan Curtis Mayfield. They possessed one of the smoothest voices in soul with Eugene Record, but their 1971 album reveals another side of the group, both lyrically and in the production of tracks like "We Are Neighbors". Ironically, the album's biggest hit was "Have You Seen Her?", a sweet soul ballad that topped the R&B charts. "(For God's Sake) Give More Power to the People" is The Chi-Lites' finest album to date, and it is finally being reissued on vinyl for the first time in decades.
