A lost LP from the Chantays that is locked away and leaves a bubbly feeling! "A Dawning Sun," largely recorded in 1966, sees the creators of "Pipeline" riding another gem from the platter! These 10 lost tracks come from the tape archives of Richard Delvy (Belairs, Challengers) and showcase the group's unique take on "Mr. Moto," new surf anthems, and even a trio of vocal cuts for when you just hit or the wave eats your lunch! It also includes a killer instrumental cover of "You've Got Your Troubles" by The Fortunes. Lost for over 50 years, these sound waves are finally ready to roll! "Pipeline" is one of the most recognized instrumental surf rock songs of the 1960s. It was written by two young men from Santa Ana, California. Their band was called the Chantays. "Pipeline" has sold over a million copies since its initial release in December 1962. Many modern guitarists have been inspired by the melody and splashing reverb of "Pipeline," and many learned to play guitar thanks to "Pipeline." Recently, some unreleased master tapes recorded by the Chantays have been unearthed, so we will take a step back and take another look at the history of the Chantays and the new information recently recovered.
