Music from the big pink - the band

Description

L'Amérique couleur sépia. With the Band, rock is not just a nice blend of essential music (blues, folk, country, jazz), but rather a history book set to music by masters of melody and arrangement. After supporting Dylan in the studio or on the road, Robbie Robertson's band released their first album in the summer of 1968, concocted in their home in Woodstock, aptly named Big Pink. Adorned with a cover painted by the Zim himself, the result is a masterpiece completely out of step with the music of its time. The Weight, This Wheel's On Fire, Chest Fever, Tears Of Rage, the wonders of classy country, folk with jazz undertones, true false waltzes from a bygone era, and multifaceted rock follow one another in a long journey where time has no hold. And like the name of the group which is simply "The Band," the effort is truly shared among Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel, and Robbie Robertson, all responsible for this anthology record.
