The Scottish band Texas and American Northern Soul pianist Spooner Oldham (Aretha Franklin, Neil Young, Bob Dylan) are collaborating on a new album: The Muscle Shoals Sessions. Recorded in the legendary Fame Recording Studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, historical tracks from Texas' repertoire are revisited in a stripped-down, honest, soul-gospel piano-vocal style. We rediscover 12 of the band's greatest hits, and two covers ('Would I Lie To You' by Charles & Eddie and 'Save The Last Dance' by The Drifters), through the soulful voice of Sharleen Spiteri, accompanied by the delicate piano lines of American virtuoso Spooner Oldham, inducted into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.
