Nathan Leproust, aka Teenage Bed, has been honing his craft for several years and has established himself as an expert in the art of wandering melancholically, from the narrow streets of Le Mans, Brest, or Lorient to the grand avenues of Philadelphia, where he sharpened his skills alongside musicians from the lo-fi scene. The thirty-something casually, mischievously, and skillfully creates artisanal pop with folk accents, drawing equally from Bon Iver, Daniel Johnston, or Alex G as from Bertrand Belin. His new album, Pause Printemps, presents itself primarily as the assertion of a tour de force: making French sound as if it had always belonged to the folk and slow-core of the American East Coast. He brilliantly combines the charm of lo-fi with a genuine demand for production quality, to offer a sound that is both obvious and unprecedented. To be released in January 2026 by Howlin’ Banana Rds.
