MYDRIAZE

Description

This is the story of four guys who grew up in Paris. More than fifteen years after they met, they are still bound by their passion for video and music. In 2016, they decided to formalize their group. A group that makes no concessions, neither for image nor for sound. They are now called CONTREFAÇON. The first EP, 4, released in 2017, was clearly marked by acid and electro influences. The second EP, Décibelle, released the following year, was supported by five music videos (one per track), which were as dark as they were parodic. After several months of touring, the ambition of a double album began to emerge. A fusion of their melodic and frenetic musical influences, a synthesis of their visual universe. It is in reference to the phenomenon of pupil dilation that can occur under the influence of psychotropic drugs or positive emotions (mydriasis) that the quartet named their first album: MYDRIAZE. To spit out its hypnotic and frenetic cinema, Contrefaçon produced a musical short film with MYDRIAZE as its soundtrack, from which each music video is extracted. A show at La Gaîté Lyrique and a national tour accompany this release.
