Undoubtedly the best current band from New Orleans, Tank and The Bangas, formed just over ten years ago by the charismatic Tarriona "Tank" Bal, draws on the city's fabulous jazz heritage and its multicultural melting pot. The result is a modern and classy blend of soul, funk, and Hip-Hop.
For each part of this new album, Tank worked with a different producer - the first, The Heart, was produced by James Poyser, The Mind by Iman Omari, and The Soul with Robert Glasper. With The Heart, The Mind, and The Soul, Tank and the Bangas affirm the thoughts, feelings, and complexities of these key parts of oneself. "I'm writing about my experience and I feel more open, free, and much more confident," says Tank.
