Systema Solar is a musical and visual collective composed of seven members from the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Their goal is to create an audiovisual performance in their own style, in the spirit of the Colombian "piko" sound system culture. They recycle Afro-Caribbean sounds and Colombian folk music, fusing them with electronic instruments and contemporary rhythms such as breakbeat, house, or techno; all accompanied by a video performance that highlights the festive and danceable side of their productions.Formed at the end of 2006, in December 2008, they participated in a competition organized in Colombia. Their performance was very well received by the public and allowed them to be included in several European compilations. In 2009, Systema Solar released its first album. The crew began to gain notoriety, thanks in part to Colombian national radio. The group entered the top 3 of the charts and saw its audience grow. In July 2010, they were nominated for 3 awards: "Best song for a TV series," "Best Album," and "Most Tasteful Group." They then became one of the most nominated groups of the year and were subsequently invited to the opening ceremony of the "Premios Shock." Then, in August, they entered the top 20 of Barcelona's "Radio Gladys Palmera." Since then, Systema Solar has prepared and released this new album, increasing concert dates in South and Central America, as well as in Europe, where they have organized an annual tour for the past 4 years, thus seeing their fan base grow.
