{"product_id":"syndrome-81_prisons-imaginaires-vinyl_2022_lad","title":"PRISONS IMAGINAIRES (vinyl)","description":"It's been almost ten years since Brest's \"sensitive hooligans\" Syndrome 81 took on the heavy task of bringing 80s punk rock back into fashion. In just a few EPs, they established themselves as representatives of a new French scene internationally. Their recipe is a clever mix of different influences from the second punk wave, from American hardcore à la Negative Approach, cold English post-punk à la Blitz, and French punk rock à la Camera Silens, to name just a few. Syndrome 81 took the time to refine this cocktail; the melodies are increasingly present, the arrangements even more elaborate, the atmosphere even colder without losing any of the energy of the catchy anthems that characterize them. This Brest quintet, embodying some of the present and past richness of the Grand-Ouest in terms of rock'n'roll (Litovsk, Sordid Ship, The Night Stalkers, Thrashington DC...), seemed a perfect fit. A perfect compromise between the freshness of a razor blade grazing the inside of a wrist on a melancholic evening and the warmth of a good friendly slap on the back given at the entrance of a pub in the Brest harbor, the Bretons combine lyrics heavy with coastal gloom and icy leads like Finistère's drizzle with riffs that seek a fight and jocular choruses. While fully participating in the Street Punk revival that has been rampant in France for several years now (Outreau, Lion's Law, Rixe, Bromure...), Syndrome 81 also distinguishes itself a bit by including a good dose of post-punk. With nothing to envy the concrete of the Parisian suburbs, the grey of the Breton sky and the boredom that haunts its misty streets give birth to magnificent punk laments. With \"Prisons Imaginaires,\" the songs gain even more effectiveness, and one can already imagine future concerts where the audience will chant the cleverly formulated choruses. Like the music, the lyrics are harsh and cold; they are life stories in Brest, the far west, far from the capital, far from everything. Syndrome 81 describes, like no one else, the daily gloom and boredom of life in Brest in songs imbued with greyness. Syndrome 81 kept fans waiting while their EPs were snatched up at premium prices and even Russian bands covered their songs... \"Prisons Imaginaires\" is only the first album from a band that already has several European and American tours as well as several legendary European festivals under its belt.","brand":"syndrome 81","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55310233305432,"sku":null,"price":20220617.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/3701037701232_97260dda-0a67-4bee-860a-28c0600bdaac.jpg?v=1760318752","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/syndrome-81_prisons-imaginaires-vinyl_2022_lad","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
