The quintet Swim Deep, from Birmingham, announces the release of their fifth studio album. They also unveil their first single, "Pieces Of You", a striking alternative rock track: layers of distortion that lend raw energy to its crystalline melodies. Fresh off a sold-out tour in Thailand and China in December, and with an unexpected lineup change, "Hum" is the work of a revitalized band, driven by an innate passion for music - even in difficult times - and more self-assured than ever, while tackling the challenges of managing an independent indie band for their fifth album. Thematically, "Hum" continues the life journey of "There's A Big Star Outside", which traced a pivotal period for Williams: preparing for the arrival of his first child, but also the departure of his wife's father. The songs on "Hum" describe the aftermath of this period, exploring grief, family, and our responsibilities to those with whom we build our lives.
