The abrasive return of Swervedriver, one of the founding bands of the 90s shoegaze movement! During their last 10 years of absence, their status as English alternative rock legends only grew stronger. In 2005, a two-disc anthology was compiled, predicting a resurrection. The journey thus resumed in 2008: Swervedriver finally received critical acclaim – praise they should have received ten years earlier. A fifth album, *I Wasn’t Born To Lose You*, appeared in 2015 – 17 years after its predecessor, announcing the band's great comeback. With *Future Ruins*, the band moves with the times, offering a new sound alongside their classic trademarks: pop songs without choruses, as in "Mary Winter," curious arrangements and strange contrasts, as in the rock'n'roll-infused track "Spiked Flower," whose lyrics reference Echo & The Bunnymen.
