3 MCs and 1 DJ, like the Beastie Boys and Mix Master Mike, as if by chance. Nikus Pokus, the group's resident beatmaker, Mr Xavier, Gérard Baste, and DJ Pone, the legendary lineup that rocked venues and festivals throughout the 2000s (Eurockéennes, Vieilles Charrues, all the most beautiful Parisian venues, small bars and big chaos...). Svinkels were the kick in the anthill of French rap, the most rock 'n' roll rappers in France, as if Lemmy and Ol' Dirty Bastard were downing Jacks and showing each other some very dirty Snaps. With the respect of both old and young, Svinkels have always had a special place in the musical landscape... The three companions met in the mid-90s and quickly cemented their love for American rap with a first EP, "Juste Fais La," produced by Guts in 1997. A cult debut album, "Tapis Rouge," was released in 1999, carried by a generation's hit, the still vibrant "Réveille le Punk." In 2003, a second opus, as rich as it was chaotic, the aptly named "Bons pour l'Asile," catapulted them into the big leagues and made them the spearheads of French alternative rap. And finally, "Dirty Centre" brilliantly concluded the trilogy in 2007, in a great tribute to the groups that influenced them, orchestrated by Dr Krunkenstein aka Ludovic Bource, a longtime companion (Cereal Killer, le Svink c'est Chic) who has since won César and Oscar awards for the soundtrack of The Artist. Add to that the presence of turntable champion DJ Pone, who was essential to the group's influence through live performances and the compilation "Dj Pone réveille le Svink!". And then suddenly, the adventure stopped... It's tiring being a Svinkels. But after projects in all directions for everyone involved, it had to "start again"... A tour? We're here! New sounds? They're coming... Today, we already have two certainties: In April 2018, they will be at L'Olympia in Paris (sold out in 24 hours, 10 months in advance) and they won't be messing with us.
