After two years of relentless touring and festival appearances, Finnish melodic death metal band Suotana returns with their most ambitious album to date: Ounas II, an epic sequel to 2023's Ounas I, bears witness to Suotana's evolution, presenting epic, icy melodic death anthems with elements of black and power metal. Tracks like "Twilight Stream" and "Winter Visions" showcase their refined songwriting and an atmosphere that is both glacial and electrifying. The album's undisputed centerpiece, however, is "1473 Ounas", a 10-minute melodic death metal odyssey, featuring a stunning guest performance by Zoe Marie Federoff-Smerda of Cradle of Filth. To conclude the Ounas saga, Suotana offers a chilling interpretation of the Children of Bodom classic, "Hatebreeder", reimagined in their own style, cold and harsh like the arctic nature.
