These are three new pieces created and performed by the iconic duo Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson, co-produced by Sunn O))) and Brad Wood. Brad Wood recorded these tracks at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville and Sea Grass in Los Angeles in 2025. The tracks on this 12-inch EP are Sunn O)))'s first official studio recordings to feature only the original duo, with heavily saturated electric guitars and synthesizers. Sunn O))) paid extreme attention and care to every step, every aspect of the recording, every tone and saturation level, every gain stage, every arrangement and harmonic, with the Pacific Northwest forest as a guide. "Eternity's Pillars" takes its name from a television show created and hosted in the mid-1980s by Alice Coltrane and Turiyasangitananda, jazz visionary and spiritual guru, which emphasized her unwavering belief in music's ability to achieve spiritual transcendence. "Raise the Chalice" takes its name from a rallying cry often uttered by Ron Guardipee, a hardcore singer and Northwest legend in the mid-1990s. "Reverential" pays vibrant tribute to those who came before us, with musical and artistic expressions forming the materials of an anthem.
