STRUT presents the 4LP edition of the classic album "Lanquidity" by Sun Ra recorded in New York in 1978. The new box set edition includes the known version of the album as well as alternative mixes by Bob Blank, originally released in limited quantity for an Arkestra concert at Georgia Tech in 1978. Both versions of the album are recorded in 45 RPM on double vinyl.
Recorded on Bob Bank's blank tapes on July 17, 1978, after the Arkestra appeared on Saturday Night Live, this album is unique in the Ra catalog. Composed of five incredibly fluid pieces, the album flows with Lanquidity. One of Sun Ra's most striking compositions, almost like a star-gazing ceremony of ancient Egypt, which involves tracing the stars and planets. A kind of space music.
