Sudanese singer Sulaf arrives on Realworld with a striking debut album! ABA is the debut album by Sudanese singer and oud player Sulaf. It is a deeply personal tribute to her grandfather, Aba, a Sufi poet who wrote and sang quietly at home, infusing family life with music, reflection, and joy. Drawing inspiration from his songs and spirit, Sulaf reinvents this intimate repertoire through a contemporary sensibility. Produced by Maxime Kosinetz (Imarhan, Gruff Rhys), the album blends Sudanese musical textures with subtle synthesizers, atmospheric soundscapes, and spoken interludes that enhance the narrative dimension of the work. Sulaf is also the featured vocalist on Tinariwen's latest single, Imidiwan Takyada, taken from their upcoming album Hoggar. On March 24, 2026, it will be announced that Sulaf will be the special guest on the majority of Tinariwen's European and UK tour dates.
