'Somebody Save Me', the new album from Sugaray Rayford, sits between the new (dirty) Blues of Gary Clarke Jr. and the old Soul of Charles Bradley. It has become a new album in the vintage genres with the addition of blazers. The former singer of The Mannish Boys returns in 2019 with his fifth album. After several highly acclaimed appearances at French festivals in 2018, Sugaray, whose real name is Caron Nimoy, illuminates this new album with a slightly more gospel hue. The album is written and produced by Forty Below founder Eric Corne. You hear guitarist Rick Holmstrom (Mavis Staples), bassist Taras Prodaniuk (Dwight Yoakam) and the Late Night with Conan O'Brien horn section.
