Run Rabbit Run

In 2001, SUFJAN STEVENS decided to go against his first album, A Sun Came, by ignoring his folk songwriter instincts to write Enjoy Your Rabbit, an entirely electronic second album. Critics at the time saw him as a raw and wild AUTECHRE...Five years later, BRYCE DESSNER (CLOGS, THE NATIONAL) submitted to SUFJAN STEVENS the idea of rewriting the album with the string quartet OSSO (already featured on Illinois, collaborators of MY BRIGHTEST DIAMOND, ANTHONY, BJÖRK, CLARE & THE REASONS...). The first 4 tracks were thus performed in 2007 in the USA. Convinced of the beauty and necessity of the project, they then decided to orchestrate the entire album, which they renamed Run Rabbit Run. What happens when an electronic album is translated by acoustic instruments? A monster of ingenuity? A small analog miracle? Both, undoubtedly.
