More than a revival, a beginning...” He covered several songs from "Voodoo Chile," but also from Buddy Guy, Howlin' Wolf, Lonnie Mack, and others. Never forgetting to mention his influences and idols, in fact, Stevie spent his life paying tribute to his idols. His influences also included jazz musicians like Kenny Burrell or Wes Montgomery. Very influenced by Jimi Hendrix but not only, he retained from 'Hendrixian' playing the fire, the venom of wild talent. Stevie Ray Vaughan started playing guitar at the age of nine, and he never stopped until his death at 35. He indeed gave his entire life to music, and made an enormous contribution, particularly to the Blues. At a time when the Blues was said to be dead, Stevie practically carried it on his shoulders alone. Stevie made himself known to the world, exploded, in 1983. A brilliant and formidable guitarist, he inspired several generations of guitarists to become 'guitar heroes,' even though he himself did not consider himself as such but simply as a guy who has fun playing guitar. In 2003, the American magazine ROLLING STONE ranked him 7th in its list of the greatest guitarists of all time! The 20th anniversary of Stevie Ray Vaughan's death is commemorated here with the reissue in double CD Legacy Edition of the brilliant “Couldn't Stand The Weather,” his immense second studio album, the best and most accomplished, YES! - Recommendation: Listen or Re-listen just to this “Tin Pan Alley.” Includes 8 remastered original tracks, plus 11 bonus studio outtakes from the album recording sessions, including 3 unreleased and the unreleased concert recorded at the Spectrum in Montreal, on August 17, 1984, three months after the album's release.
