Steve Hogarth is best known as the singer and lyricist of the British band Marillion, recognized for his expressive voice, poetic lyrics, and emotionally charged performances, he has helped shape the band's evolution into one of the most enduring and respected acts in progressive rock.Outside of Marillion, Steve Hogarth has developed a rich solo career that allows him to explore music in a more personal and cinematic way. Hogarth is known for his ability to create a deep connection with the audience, whether on large stages or in more intimate acoustic settings. His compositions often address love, loss, spirituality, and human resilience, carried by a voice that remains one of the most unique and moving in modern rock.Ice Cream Genius was originally released in 1997 and is H's first, and to date only, solo album. The mediabook 3CD + Blu-ray deluxe edition of the album offers the most comprehensive look to date at Ice Cream Genius and the H Band, with over 11 hours of content, the majority of which is previously unreleased. It reveals the entire story of the album: from the first ideas to the writing, through the demos and recording sessions, as well as the anecdotes and meanings of the tracks explained by H himself.In addition to the studio album on the first disc, the second and third CDs feature a complete concert given by H with his band at Dingwalls on August 9, 2000. The Blu-ray contains a documentary about the album, numerous demos and versions from the studio sessions, as well as three additional concerts, highlighting the evolution of the H Band between 1997 and 2003.
