WASHINGTON SQUARE SERENADE/COLOURED

Description

A blues, country, folk, and rock singer, American Steve Earle (born in Fort Monroe, Virginia, on January 17, 1955) grew up in Texas before settling in Nashville, where he built his career with his band, The Dukes. His "roots" and politically charged songs quickly gained recognition from his first album, the exemplary *Guitar Town* (1986). Others followed at regular intervals, establishing Steve Earle as a major songwriter of his era, in the vein of Neil Young and Townes Van Zandt.
