An American blues, country, folk, and rock singer, Steve Earle (born in Fort Monroe, Virginia, on January 17, 1955) grew up in Texas before moving to Nashville, where he built his career with his band, The Dukes. His "roots" and committed songs quickly gained recognition from his first album, the exemplary Guitar Town (1986).
