Just awarded the Victoire de la Musique Classique 2019 for Best Composer, Guillaume Connesson continues his partnership with Deutsche Grammophon with this new double album recorded with the Brussels Philharmonic under the direction of Stéphane Denève. First collaboration with violinist Renaud Capuçon, Guillaume Connesson presents his violin concerto inspired by the American film Lost Horizon by Frank Capra, commissioned and dedicated by/to Pierre Bergé. The album is completed by the saxophone concerto dedicated to John Coltrane and performed by Thimothée MacCalister. Note two other works by Guillaume Connesson, The City of Lovecraft and Le Tombeau des Regrets.
