The inspiration for 'Winter Resort Music' comes from a childhood love of winter sports. It’s all about spooky synths, radio electronics, subconscious TV memories, and a sense of wonder at what these athletes were able to do on the slopes while growing up in the suburbs.Who can forget the radiant figure skaters, dancing in the public's mind? Perfect beauty that melted the hearts of girls and boys worldwide. Sunday afternoons spent watching guys hurl themselves into long jump in the vastness of the white cosmos. I never really understood what was going on, but I just thought: "I'd like to be in the chalets with those people, sipping mulled wine. An alien, inaccessible world, where fabulous people did fabulous things."The Portuguese Stellarays were also watching and have distilled these memories into an authentic and glorious reinvention of how these memories still reside within us. Winter Resort Music is a powerful memory bomb that captures what we know and enriches it to make it better.
