To celebrate the 20th anniversary of his album TOURIST, Ludovic Navarre, aka St Germain, invited producers, DJs and remixers from the United Kingdom, South Africa, the United States, Reunion Island and France, with diverse inspirations ranging from Deep House to Afro House and Chicago House.
"I'd like to thank everyone I asked to choose their favorite track from the album 'Tourist' and offer us their personal artistic version," he says. "Some of them had worked on my last African-inspired album, released in 2015, including my dear friend AtJazz, who helped me a lot on this new project, not forgetting Terry Laird, DJ Deep and Traumer. I don't need to introduce the very talented 'newcomers' like JoVonn, Nightmares on Wax, Ron Trent, Black Motion, Osunlade and Jullian Gomes. I respect their passion for music, their personalities and their musical integrity. I know they've got soul!"
This journey began on September 4, 2020, in England with the Deep House version of ROSE ROUGE by English producer Martin Iveson aka ATJAZZ. Then, on October 16, the journey continued to South Africa with DJ Murdah and Thabo Smol, who form the "Afro House" duo BLACK MOTION, with their version of the hit track Sure Thing. On November 12, LUDOVIC NAVARRE aka St Germain extended the journey with the track So Flute Amapiano version 2020, accompanied by Burkinabe flutist Dramane Dembélé.
