Description

With two epic studio albums and numerous captivating concerts, it's safe to say that Spurv has left an indelible impression on the international post-rock scene over the last decade. For this Norwegian sextet, a whole new dimension in terms of composition, musicality, scope, and production has opened up with their new album "Brefjaere". It combines the orchestral grandeur of Mono and EF, the nostalgic textures of This Will Destroy You, the sanctity of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and the Scandinavian mysticism of Sigur Ros. An oratorio for a desperate world with which Spurv redefines the boundaries of primarily instrumental symphonic indie rock, (very) modern contemporary classical music (with string sections, samples, poetry, brass, and choirs), and captivating post-rock, finding beauty and comfort at the intersection of time, nature, history, and humanity.
