Description

Spirits Burning is a musical collective led by Don Falcone. The group celebrates space rock, prog rock, contemporary music and other genres. Its members include members of Blue Öyster Cult, Clearlight, Gong, Hawkwind, Van Der Graaf Generator and many other groups, as well as Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree and British science fiction and fantasy writer Michael Moorcock. Spirits Burning has released over 20 albums, bringing together nearly 300 musicians.In 2017, Spirits Burning performed live at Kozfest, under the main marquee, on the David Allen Kozmik stage. It was an exceptional performance, Spirits Burning having until then been a studio project. The lineup: members of the Hawkwind family, Richard Chadwick (drums, vocals), Bridget Wishart (vocals, EWI) and Steve Bemand (guitar, vocals), as well as Don Falcone (keyboards, vocals), Kev Ellis (Kaoss pad, vocals), Martin Plumley (guitar, vocals) and Colin Kafka (bass). One of the highlights of the concert was a cover of Hawkwind's "Images", a track that Bemand, Chadwick and Wishart had already performed together during Hawkwind's European tour in 1991 to promote the album "Space Bandits".
