It was in 1994 that the Spice Girls were formed at the initiative of Simon Fuller, creator of 'Pop Idol' and manager of, among others, S Club 7 and Annie Lennox. The legendary 'Wannabe' would literally break records and establish the 'Girl Power' that Mel B, Geri, Mel C, Emma, and Victoria would embody throughout the second half of the 90s.
From the release of their first album in 1996, the sparkling Spice Girls burst onto the scene and crushed everything in their path. They went on to release hit after hit, tour, and appear on TV shows until Geri's departure (who would later return) and Victoria's (who would marry football star David Beckham).
