Description

Recent research in the Red Records archives led to the discovery of two 10-inch tapes, believed to be blank. Upon closer inspection, a single track by Sphere was found on each reel. This is a remarkable discovery, as for such an important jazz group, the official legacy is limited to two Elektra Musician releases and two Red Records live recordings. Now, The Complete Live at Umbria Jazz contains seven tracks, three of which are Buster Williams compositions, on an album that gives full freedom to his bass. Three previous compositions from Flight Path appear here live: Charlie Rouse's Pumpkin's Delight, Christina, which is Buster Williams' dedication to his granddaughter, and the unreleased If Ever I Should Lose You.
