EXPERIMENTAL, MARTIAL, MINIMAL AND ABYSSAL (GUITAR PART) When two members of Chausse Trappe and two members of Papier Tigre and La Colonie De Vacances meet, the result is Spelterini, a band formed in Nantes in 2017. Like the tightrope walker Maria Spelterini, whose name they borrow, the goal is to play with flexibility and tension, to remain attentive and lively, always on the edge. In concert, the band performs long-format pieces strung together like breathtaking, net-free crossings, based on rhythm, drone, and feedback. Accidents, errors, and the unexpected are seized upon by the band as creative impulses, thus contributing to the life of the pieces and the renewal of the performance. The band has already completed a first French tour between 2018 and 2019, including a highly acclaimed performance at the Levitation festival in Angers. From October, Spelterini will be back on tour in France and Spain for the release of their album. Two sides, two tracks, two moments, two methods. A "split" between two aspects of the band. Born from the first year of closed-door rehearsals, "Pergélisol" comes from Spelterini's live repertoire. This version was captured live by Manuel Duval at La Grange Cavale in June 2018. "Chorémanie" is a collage, made of oppositions, repetitions, and ruptures, whose composition is purely derived from the recording process. The whole oscillates between edgy post-punk, repetitive music, and ambient drone, somewhere between This Heat, Swans, and Eliane Radigue.
