Brass/Trio, released in 1958 on Verve, is an unusual statement from Sonny Rollins. The first half of the record features the saxophonist in a harmonious and swinging setting on standards such as "Who Cares?" and "Love Is A Simple Thing", surrounded by a brass ensemble. The second half features a stripped-down trio (H. Grimes, S. Wright) that emphasizes Rollins' rhythmic mastery and melodic elasticity. Mastered from analog tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl.
