In the fall of 1985, Sonic Youth took their *Bad Moon Rising* album on the road across America, including this show at Chicago's Smart Bar, recorded on 4-track. The show features a large portion of the album's tracks, early versions of "Secret Girl" and "Expressway to Yr Skull" (later released on the album *Evol*), and a rare, unreleased performance of "Kat 'n' Hat." Mixed and mastered by the band from the original tapes, this CD (or double LP) also includes notes from Gerard Cosloy and their sound engineer Aaron Mullan, as well as never-before-seen photos by Pat Blashill and Steven Koress.
