« For me, playing the Bach suites always evokes at some point the image of Giacometti's hands tirelessly molding clay until a face emerges. Grappling with the Bach suites is very similar to that. It's about delving into the string until the phrase is born, along with its proper breath. A phrase in perpetual becoming. That never stops forming and reforming itself. I waited a long time to record them. And then one day, or rather one night, I began. And then there was the encounter with Sarah Moon.
