Norwegian jazz singer Solveig Slettahjell has long harbored the idea of creating a quartet album based on Nordic themes she has chosen, stemming from her "Nordic Songbook." She collected songs for this project over several years, interspersed with folk tunes and new pieces written by herself and Andreas Ulvo. The quartet comprises some of Norway's most prominent jazz musicians of the moment: Andreas Ulvo on piano, Trygve Waldemar Fiske on bass, and Pal Hausken on drums.
