The debut album from 7 Days of Funk, the new group from Snoopzilla (Snoop Dogg) and Dâm-Funk. Snoopzilla is the funk alias of the legendary hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg, who this time pays tribute to Bootsy Collins. Dâm-Funk, for his part, champions a return to synthetic funk; his debut album Toeachizown was described by Pitchfork as "a true work of transcendence." This is Snoop Dogg's first album with a single producer since Doggystyle in 1993. Guests on the album include funk legend Steve Arrington of the group Slave, as well as rapper Kurupt (Tha Dogg Pound). The first single from the album, "Faden Away," has already been praised by the press in the UK and the US, by the BBC and by Pitchfork. 7 Days of Funk is released on the independent label Stones Throw (Quakers, Madlib, and Aloe Blacc).
