Hailing from Mississippi, singer, guitarist, and keyboardist Skip James began his career in the 1920s. Almost half a century later, the bluesman with the deep tenor voice revisited his singles released on Paramount Records in 1931 on 'Today!', which came out in 1966.
Featuring Skip James' unique fingerpicking style, this selection includes some Delta Blues classics, among them "Hard Time Killing Floor Blues", "Drunken Spree", and "I'm So Glad", which would be covered by Cream a few months later.
Vinyl reissue in the Bluesville Acoustic Sounds Series. Audiophile-grade 180-gram pressing by Quality Record Pressing (QRP) with a tip-on jacket and obi (Japanese-style belly band).
