In 2006, Six Parts Seven, an American post-rock band from Ohio, on hiatus to record their album Casually Smashed to Pieces (2007), found themselves recording an album with Joey Beltram, the songwriter for Goodmorning Valentine, a local band with whom they shared musicians. The music for ‘Kissing Distance’ was created in two days. There was whiskey, weed, piles of Marlboro Reds for those still dragging on their butts. During these two days, the songs were cut without any prior rehearsal. In hindsight, it seemed inevitable.
