Severe Exposure - Deluxe - Vinyle Transparent Et Orange
Description
Thirty years after its initial release, Six Finger Satellite’s *Severe Exposure* is reborn in a bold deluxe edition. The Sub Pop label celebrates the anniversary of this cult second album with an enhanced double vinyl reissue: in addition to the original tracks, *Severe Exposure: Deluxe Edition* includes the 1994 *Machine Cuisine* EP on a bonus 12", as well as a digital download of 17 additional tracks—rarities, compilation tracks, and unreleased material. Everything has been carefully remastered by JJ Golden. The whole package is presented in an elegant box set, with individual sleeves for each record. Formed in 1990 in Providence, Rhode Island, Six Finger Satellite quickly made a name for themselves on the independent scene with an abrasive and experimental sound. Comprising J. Ryan (vocals, keyboards), John MacLean and Peter Phillips (guitars), Chris Dixon (bass), and Rick Pelletier (drums), the band signed with Sub Pop for the *Weapon* EP, then released their acclaimed debut album *The Pigeon Is the Most Popular Bird* in 1993. Two years later, *Severe Exposure* established a unique vision of post-punk, where grating synthesizers and nervous tension blended into a raw and avant-garde cocktail. Visionary, *Severe Exposure* anticipated the strong return of post-punk and synth-rock in the early 2000s. Trouser Press then praised tracks like "Rabies (Baby’s Got The)" and "Simian Fever," describing them as “aggressive, messy, but shot through with new wave-worthy synth pulses.” SF Weekly called it “a party record, the one you put on when you want to make certain people leave.” A favorite of Seth Jabour (Les Savy Fav), this landmark album was the band's best-selling. It was recorded in their own studio, The Parlour, in Providence—a work to (re)discover in all its raw power. Transparent and orange vinyl edition.
