Simorgh

Description

New project by Lucio Bukowski and Lionel deSoulchildren, the name Simorgh refers to the Persian mythological tale in which 30,000 Simorgh birds are searching for their king. This philosophical quest is therefore the inspiration for the two members: the prolific Lucio Bukowski from L'Animalerie (already six albums and fifteen EPs) and Lionel, half of the producer duo Soulchildren, who has collaborated with Giorgio, Youssoupha, Flynt, Keny Arkana, and Scylla. The 10 tracks born from this encounter oscillate between successively dark or luminous sounds, often shamanic, with voices omnipresently blended into the instrumentals. The Lyon-based rapper sometimes allows for long silences in his lyrics to emphasize the free nature of his poetry, which often relies on the association of ideas. Simorgh listens like an inner journey where themes of death and love, time and creation, doubt and refusal collide.
