After bursting onto the scene with 1minute2rap freestyles and four scorching music videos that garnered millions of views, Antoine SIMONY is finally releasing his debut album - Origines: Euphoria.
He first captured attention and laid the groundwork for his project with three EPs (Simony & Donny Darko) released amidst the chaos of 2020. But Simony never gave up. He quickly got back on track with a seven-track EP (Vortex) released in 2022, while also honoring his first live performances. Luminous and vibrant.
For this Parisian rapper with Corsican maternal roots, music is meticulously crafted: high-tension sounds, sonic crescendos, old-school soaring breakthroughs, a frequent interplay between the introspective and the societal, a precise, constantly moving flow, and powerful expressiveness. This combination is evident on Origines: Euphoria, a momentous debut album where he expels his inner turmoil with transcendent clarity.
The seven stages align with the order of the tracks. The shock, right at the start, with a furious "Kill Bill" reflecting on society's violence, a younger sibling to "Fight Club," one of his earliest tracks. Simony then unfolds the different levels of this journey: denial, anger, melancholia, resignation, acceptance... The writing is sincere, biting, playful, rich in alliterations and name-dropping, while his loyal producers, the Rabbits, build sonic beehives where rumbling, cinematic, epic waves flit about.
A unique collision between NTM and Vitalic, Georgio and Gesaffelstein, Vald and The Blaze.
