With this fourth album, the Finnish band SHAPE OF DESPAIR offers us a magnificent reinterpretation of melancholy in all its sonic forms.
The "Doomsters" took their time to compose this true masterpiece that tastefully blends Atmospheric and Funeral Doom; indeed, almost eleven years have passed since their previous album "Illusion's Play" (2004). This break was briefly interrupted with the EP "Written In My Scars" in 2010 and a 7'' split with the band Before The Rain the following year.
The arrival of the new singer Henri Koivula, whose corrosive voice contrasts perfectly with the ethereal voice of singer Natalie Koskinen, brings a real plus that will undoubtedly satisfy the band's fanbase.
SHAPE OF DESPAIR are back, and intend to once again occupy the throne of the Funeral Doom kingdom.
