Despite some initial astonishment from the media, Napalm Death achieved worldwide success, supported by John Peel.The band is recognized as the inventor of grindcore, a subgenre of extreme metal characterized by ultra-fast tracks.In 2017, Napalm Death became the first extreme metal band to perform at Glastonbury.
