Sebastien Tellier's music has always paired perfectly with images. We remember his original soundtrack for Gilles Lellouche and Tristan Aurouet's film "Narco" (2004), or the scene from Sofia Coppola's "Lost in Translation" (2003) where Scarlett Johansson hangs out alone in her hotel room in Tokyo. Daft Punk also chose a Tellier track for the legendary scene in "Electroma" (2006) where the robots remove their masks in a bar's restroom! Another Sebastien, Betbeder this time, asked Sebastien Tellier to compose the music for his new film, "Marie et les naufragés" (Released in theaters on April 13). For this film with a very free and strange tone, Tellier chose a retro-futuristic electronic path in the tradition of Giorgio Moroder. Aided by his sidekick John Kirby, he sprinkled the film with languorous themes where one can hear here and there homages to Marvin Gaye or Ennio Morricone.
