Not only do Scorpions write great songs and produce phenomenal albums, but they are also a unique live band that feels at home on any stage, regardless of its size. It is not without reason that the Hanoverians have earned a reputation as one of the best live bands of all time. So what could be more obvious than documenting the band's sensational performances in stadiums and arenas around the world with a live album? 'World Wide Live' was an ambitious project. A film crew followed the band across the United States, Asia, and Europe to South America and recorded the daily routine of the tour as well as the concerts and the band's interaction with its fans. Originally released on VHS video and optical disc, the documentary was also released in theaters in the United States. For the live album, the band compiled five concerts in Paris (February 29, 1984), Los Angeles (April 24 and 25, 1984), San Diego (April 26, 1984), Costa Mesa (April 28, 1984), and Cologne (November 17, 1984). The recordings capture the electrifying intensity of their shows and give a clear idea of how easily they can engage the audience in different parts of the world. The core of the live program consists of the best tracks from the four previous studio albums, which in the live version once again clearly gain in sharpness, urgency, and power. 'World Wide Live' is now available as a 180g double gatefold vinyl in light orange color. In addition to 'World Wide Live', 'Fly To The Rainbow', 'Tokyo Tapes', 'In Trance', 'Virgin Killer', 'Humanity - Hour 1', 'Savage Amusement', 'Blackout', 'Lovedrive', 'Taken By Force', 'Animal Magnetism', and 'Love At First Sting' will also be released in new colored vinyl versions.
