When the Scorpions entered the studio between two tours to record 'Animal Magnetism' at the end of 1979, they were under heavy pressure to write and record songs in a short amount of time. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, they created a masterpiece with 'Animal Magnetism' that endures decades later. 'Animal Magnetism' is one of the Scorpions' most innovative albums. They anticipate developments that, years later, will lead to the emergence of a subgenre of heavy metal all its own. A good example of this is the title track. Its slow, hypnotic groove, at the same time subtly aggressive and powerful, has all the ingredients of what would later become known as Doom and Groove Metal. ANIMAL MAGNETISM captivates with its electrifying intensity, unbridled aggression, and brilliant guitar riffs, as well as the creative enthusiasm with which the musicians explore and experiment with different musical styles. ANIMAL MAGNETISM is the first album on which Matthias Jabs had a major influence. His inspiring and technically excellent guitar work gives the songs their own edge. He also contributed his first original song, "Don't Make No Promises (Your Body Can't Keep)", co-written with Herman Rarebell. The album became another important milestone for the Scorpions over the years. It was the first album to go platinum in the United States, and it firmly established the Scorpions among the greatest rock bands in North America. 'Animal Magnetism' is now available on 180-gram red colored vinyl. In addition to 'Animal Magnetism', 'Fly To The Rainbow', 'In Trance', 'Virgin Killer', 'Humanity - Hour 1', 'Taken By Force', 'Love At First Sting', 'Savage Amusement', 'Tokyo Tapes', 'World Wide Live', 'Blackout', and 'Lovedrive' will also be released in new colored vinyl editions.
