Ready for The Show

Description

In 1975, the German hard rock band Schloss released the album "Weltschmerz", which came out in Europe on Giorgio Moroder's Oasis label and in the US on Casablanca, famous for shock rockers KISS. But the trio did not find success, and singer/guitarist Klaus Luley went on to form the iconic Tokyo, then the band Craaft. Until recently, that was the end of Schloss's story, except that "Weltschmerz" is now quite sought after. In 1981, the LP "Ready For The Show" was released by a band that apparently had the same name. Or maybe they didn't at all? The LP's liner notes are so sparse that you can't even find a line-up. All that can be learned is that management came from the Frankfurt area and that the LP was recorded at Spygel Studios, Kirchheim/Teck, and released on the "PEAK" label. Insiders at least know that this is one of the early records from the GAMA Records talent factory, as PEAK was one of their labels. Until today, it has not been possible to discover that this SCHLOSS is the same band, not even via the Discogs portal. After painstaking research, it was finally discovered that drummer Willy Waid and bassist Roger Kaeschner apparently continued SCHLOSS without Klaus Luley. Golden Core fills this gap in knowledge with the reissue of this mystical record, on CD and vinyl. "Ready For The Show" offers everything that makes that era (1981) so exciting, from true hard rock to proto metal. The band thus anticipated a bit of what Mötley Crüe would represent years later. You can feel Glam Metal as well as some "NWOBHM moments made in Germany". A truly obscure record, now reissued for the first time.
