Dogs Of War is the twelfth studio album by the heavy metal band Saxon, released in 1995. This marked a period of change for Saxon, both in their sound and their lineup. With albums from the early 90s like Solid Ball Of Rock and Forever Free, Saxon convinced many skeptics that they still had plenty of quality heavy metal to offer, and after a three-year recording hiatus, the band returned to glory with the massive Dogs Of War. Once past its thunderous opening title track, Dogs Of War delivered a series of improbably memorable and distinctive tracks, including "Big Twin Rolling (Coming Home)," "The Great White Buffalo," and "Demolition Alley." It is also the last album featuring longtime guitarist Graham Oliver as a member of the classic lineup, who left shortly after the album's release.
