Based on the discography of the group "Sans Prétention," fairy tales still exist in 2022…
Once upon a time in the Grand Ouest region, a group of childhood friends had been meeting on Wednesday evenings after work for about seven years to indulge their passion for music. There’s Nico, a farmer, singer, and guitarist; Valentin, a tile layer, singer, and percussionist; Fabrice, a fruit and vegetable vendor and accordionist; Alexis, a design office manager and bassist; Yohann, a sales representative and guitarist; and finally, Cyril, an automotive technician and drummer. As they progressed, they decided to leave their rehearsal space and began performing in local bars. To a repertoire of eleven distinctly festive and optimistic French songs, they added a collaborative track born from the boredom of the first lockdown. Each of the six friends wrote a verse, evoking their world and daily life in their own way, set to a specially composed melody. Once synthesized, the title came almost naturally, reflecting their journey: "Sans Prétention" (Without Pretension). Released online, the group achieved unexpected success: over 2.5 million views in less than a year.
